I think this part about the Spire guardians is set in stone now, they are infact a religious cult. Also what do cults often do? They sacrifice people, need i say more? Well I will, as there is more to talk about as one of the spire quests requires you to steal a cult artifact from the spire for Raz, a CULT artifact.

Now look at what the Spire guardians are, with their built in emote we can see their face so we know they are infact humans underneath that armour, but more importantly look at the Spire's shadow loading screen, the Spire guardian is in the typical position that artists and movie makers put their characters when they reach their destination, standing on a cliff looking at their final goal, this to me seems like the Guardian's found the Spire rather than appearing to protect the Spire as if that was the case then they would've appeared at the Spire, no it is much more likely that they found the Spire and created a culture behind it.įurthermore the name of the loading screen is Spire's Shadow, what does a shadow do? It follows, just like a religious cult follows their god/gods. This to me suggests that the Foundation is still able to communicate to the outside world while inside the Spire as it is clear that he impacts the Spire crystals through his breath. Now go to the zero point and look through one of the gaps in the sphere if you look closely you can see the exact movement as with the crystals (i tried to put the short videos of these movements but they are over the file size limit apparently so you can check for yourself) If you go look at them you will realize that they move, but they don't just move but move in a natural way, smoothly like Lungs even at times moving faster than normal like a heartbeat. Now The Foundation is a smart guy, I think that is safe to say seeing how he is the leader of the seven, and he is trapped inside of the Spire, with that in mind look at the crystals that stick out of the spire. What many seem to have disregarded as an end game thing is that The Foundation is inside of the Zero point that is inside the Spire, so the Spire is partially a living being with The Foundation pulling the strings (quite literally if you go by him untangling the Zero Point at the start of the Season). To understand this we need to first look at what they protect, the Spire. They aren't God's, an alien race or anything supernatural like that but a growing Religious group/cult. Those are questions that plagued me since my first game of this Season and now I believe I have an answer. What are they? Why are they the only hostile people on the island (aside from Glyph Master Raz but I'll get to that), and most importantly what is their connection to the Zero Point? Anyways you are here for the theory not for my silly explanation so with that out of the way let's get onto the theory. Apologies that I haven't been making any theories this season earlier despite me saying that I would, the season has been slower with lore than I expected, along with some personal things that kept me busy I haven't had enough stuff and time to come up with a satisfying theory but now with more Spire quests I have found some inspiration for a theory.
